Spring Cleaning Tip #3: Overcoming Fear


As I began working on the topic of fear a few weeks ago, as a part of this Spring Cleaning series, it became clear that this topic deserves a complete series and that trying to address it in a brief post won’t suffice. At the same time, I think it’s important to talk about now, as we’re amidst our efforts to keep at breaking a bad habit and ditch negative thinking.

Most of us have a fear that keeps us from fully living who we are created to be. The fear often eats us alive as we experience analysis paralysis and keep serving ourselves large portions of limiting thinking.

Fear is paralysis of the soul. It freezes us in our tracks and puts us either in a state of being hamsters on a wheel – doing the same thing over and over again the same way because we’re too afraid to breakout – or we are put in a catatonic state where we cannot seem to move forward = false permission to ignore the fear that is creating anxiety, pain, and self-doubt.

What if you could move through that fear? What if you could be unstoppable? What if you had the courage to be totally vulnerable, identify and state that fear out loud, and then take action toward overcoming it? What would your life look like?

Well, I’ll tell you.

In my video, I am going to share with you a fear that has paralyzed me since I began discerning this business over a year ago. It is one of the most vulnerable moments in my professional life.

Why am I doing this?

Because I’m tired of making unfounded assumptions. I want to be 100% authentic and true to who I am.

I want to be who I’m called to be and be unstoppable.

Let’s say what our fear is OUT LOUD and take steps to get to the other side of the fear…which I promise you is a peace that passes understanding and takes us a step closer to living out the fullest expression of ourselves – which is what we were created to do.

3 Steps toward Overcoming Fear
(Hint: Write it all down.)

  1. Say what your fear is.
  2. Why do you fear it? What are you afraid of? What do you need to let go of? What lies are you telling yourself? Look back over your list and debunk your assumptions.
  3. What will your life look like if you let go of control? What if you just do it? What if you take a leap of faith? Your answer should be pretty strong if you’re serious about overcoming your fear. Therein lies the leverage that you need.
